Contrary to rescue propaganda, you are not your pet's slave, permanently indebted to them for the horrible crime of taking them in. Such a concept is totally backwards and antithetical to the purpose of getting a pet. Pet ownership should be mutually pleasant for both of you. Neurotic pets, or those with extreme medical needs, should not be allowed to dictate their owners' lives. Having a pet  should never hold you back from normal hobbies or career opportunities. It's also cruel to keep pets where they're miserable. I'm not saying to rehome pets on a whim, only that people and pets are not equal. A pet is not a human child. The whole point of domestication is to create companion animals. Pets exist for their owners. People exist for society.

Three Types of Menaces in Society

Conservatives (narcissists) have a moral compass built on low empathy and high respect for boundaries. Racism, sexism, and all forms of prejudice were invented by conservatives. Liberals (borderlines) have a moral compass built on high empathy and low respect for boundaries. Promiscuity and illegal immigration, which threaten cultural cohesion, are the fault of liberals. Both conservatives and liberals are gullible. They enable sociopaths through authoritarianism and passivity, respectively. Sociopaths have no moral compass. Lacking both empathy and respect for boundaries, they operate on pure, selfish impulse. Sociopaths often disguise themselves as conservatives or liberals and use both ideologies to gain control. Normal, sane, conscientious people face a constant threat from the other groups—and, more often than not, end up footing the bill for their shenanigans.

3 Reasons Why Porn Kills Love

1. Porn degrades women. The vast majority of porn videos contain physical and/or verbal abuse toward women. Porn tends to be centered around male orgasm and the male gaze, and it trains men to take pleasure in the maltreatment of women. 2. Porn enables human trafficking. Porn consumption increases the demand for "sex workers," a.k.a. prostituted people, 89 percent of whom wish to exit the sex trade immediately. Victims of this exploitative industry are frequently exposed to STDs and illicit drugs and are expected to endure painful, humiliating acts on camera. 3. Porn is a cheap imitation of true intimacy.  Porn  reduces human sexuality to a mere exchange of bodily fluids, rather than an authentic expression of love and commitment. Sex is an integral part of the human spirit, yet it gets treated as a commodity that can be bought and sold. In our modern culture, porn is often depicted as progressive, liberating, and empowering. But that image couldn't be further from th...

To My Beloved Father

Last night, you asked me a really great question: Do you believe the Bible is true? While it might look straightforward on the surface, the answer is a lot more complex than meets the eye. A simple yes or no could never do justice to all the questions behind the question, so instead, I've decided to address each one individually. Is the Bible historically accurate? Yes and no. Many parts of the Bible deal with historical events, but others seem more allegorical. Given what we now know about evolution, it's highly unlikely that Adam literally sprang up fully-formed out of the dust, or that Noah literally crammed thousands of animals onto the ark. Our scientific understanding evolves over time, and we'd be fools not to evolve with it. But, at the same time, these stories are more than just fairytales—they help us explore what it truly means to be human. Was the Bible written by God?  Not exactly. To me, the very essence of the Gospel is the union of complementary opposites...

Do Christians Have to Go to Church?

Let's get something straight: as Christians, we're not necessarily called to go to church. We're called to be the church. Church isn't somewhere you go. It's something you are, and it's something you experience. Embrace church wherever you find it. If you find church in a building, fine. If you don't, fine. Ultimately, you don't need other people to tell you who you are.  While church attendance can be beneficial, there are seasons in a person's life that warrant a break from organized religion. For many people who are recovering from illness or abuse, attending church is simply not feasible. Also, some people are "between churches" due to moving or some other circumstance, and we cannot reasonably expect them to commit to one church right away. Church should never be used as a weapon against people who are in sensitive situations.  Christianity is so much more than church membership. To be a Christian is to follow Jesus, even if you'v...

Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up?

Don't give me your fake Jesus, Your popular Jesus, your counterfeit Jesus. Give me the weird Jesus, The outcast Jesus, the misfit Jesus. Give me the Jesus who turned the world on its head, Who challenged the righteous and ate with sinners instead. Don't give me your shallow platitudes,  Your virtue signaling, your ivory-tower attitudes.  I don't need your white-only Jesus, Your sexist Jesus, your prejudice-is-alright Jesus. Give me the in-your-face Jesus, The feminist Jesus, the don't-judge-by-race Jesus. I will not feast at the table of your lies,  Your sugar-coated words, your half-truths in disguise.  Give me the real Jesus, The fierce Jesus, the witty Jesus. Don't give me your polished Jesus, your pretty Jesus, Who keeps his head down and does as he's told. Give me the Jesus who's brave and bold. I don't want your Jesus who blends in with the crowd. I need the Jesus who loves me out loud.

How the Transgender Movement Undermines Real Feminism

First of all, the transgender movement erases the reality of womanhood. In an effort to be more inclusive, they've decided that a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman. The problem with this definition is that it's circular and lacks objective meaning. In order for words to have a clear meaning, they need to be defined by facts, not by feelings or identity. Also, inclusivity is not always a good thing. Language is exclusive by its very nature.  The purpose of language is to convey a clear, specific message. If words have no objective meanings and boundaries, then they are meaningless.  "Woman" and "female" are not an exception to this rule; they, too, need to be objectively defined. Womanhood is a biological reality, not a feeling or a social construct.  A woman is an adult female human. Females are people who take the default, estrogen-dominated path of development from conception onwards. Women and girls belong to the sex that produces egg cells and ge...
